This event runs sections at U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U13, U15 & U18 and attracts top players from all over the South and London. It also hosts the National Chess Junior Squad “closed” championships for squad members, and those aspiring to the squad. As usual, there was a large Sussex contingent – well done to all.

Under 18 Championships
Henry Adams – 1st with 3.5/5
Under 13 Championships
Igor Aleksandrov – 2nd with 4/5.
Under 11 Championships (NJCS Qualifier)
First half norms for Aidan Burnside and Aditya Gupta (both scored 3/5). Both need another half norm to get invited to the NCJS selection trial in May.
Under 10 Championships
Congratulations to Sidhanth Pai who won the Under 10 Championship with 5/6; closely followed by Hal Gomez (3rd) and Josiah McKie (top placed under 9) both on 4.5.
Under 8 Championships
Arthur followed up his success in the Under 7s with 2nd place in the Under 8s with 4/6.
Under 7 Championships
Congratulations to Arthur Ashcroft who has won the U7 title with 6 out of 6.
