Thomas Rendle, aged 13, wins the Terafinal! Aug 1999
Sussex under 13 Thomas Rendle scooped the title at the Saitek Chess Challenge Terafinal by narrowly beating Adam Hunt in a play-off.
This result placed Thomas top of the 35,000+ entries in the competition, the largest of its kind in the world for Juniors.
In an exceptional day for Sussex Junior Chess, third place was jointly taken by David Howell.
