The Welsh National U18 team requested another tournament against England players and on Saturday, 13th July, 2024, a team from Sussex headed to Usk to play their best and brightest local chess players.

The Sussex Junior Chess team were managed by Mike Forster (FIDE Master) and his wife Debbie. The team were:

Wins were had for Wales and England and whether a game was won, lost or drawn, games were analysed by England FIDE Master Mike Forster; and National Master Callum Brewer, along with Welsh FIDE Master Alexis Harakis.
The final result of the day was 27 – 13 to Sussex.
Mr. Eustis, said how this was a great opportunity to practise for the prestigious Glorney Cup event which will take place on 23rd July at the University of Hull. The Glorney Cup has been running since 1948 and is like the Six Nations but for Chess!
The Wales National Squad and their friends at Sussex Junior Chess hope to meet again soon in the near future for some more elite games.
