Congratulations to our new Under 11 squad who came fifth in their first outing at Richmond. The first 3 places were contested by the 3 teams that finished in the medal placings last year. The Sussex team, missing a few players due to other commitments, performed creditably and look forward to a good showing in the EPSCA national championships next month.
The team were superbly managed by James Gomez standing in for U11 team manager Steve Merchant who was away playing at the Blackpool Chess Congress
