Thanks to Alex Holowczak, ECF Director of Junior Chess, for organising this fun, fast and furious online championship. Taking place every 2-3 weeks teams need a minimum of 15 players (no maximum) and play matches with a time limit of 5/3 – the whole event lasting 90 minutes.

Thank you to everyone who took part, another bumper turnout with 25 players from Sussex.
We came 3rd overall with the 2 Luke’s coming in the top 20, the next event will be 5th June.

39th Battle – 6th March 2023
Back on top this month thanks to a great team effort. Congratulations to George who came 3rd overall and Igor who was 5th. We also had Samuel, Elena and Luke in the top 20.

36th Battle – 5th December 2022
Winners by a comfortable margin this month and congratulations to Andy who came 1st by a long way.
Well done also to Henry, Louis, Igor and Tadeusz who all finished in the top 10. With 15 players scoring towards the final team total it is a great team effort though which pulls us through each month, thanks to all who took part.

35th Battle – 7th November 2022
After being squeezed out by a single point into 2nd last time we are back on top with another great team effort.
Congratulations to Henry who came 1st with a monster score and well done to Luke, Andy, Igor, George and Louis who all finished in the top 20. We had plenty of other good scores too.

Thanks to all who got involved, so unlucky to get pipped by 1 point in what must have been the closest result ever.
Having come 2nd last time, Kit took top individual spot and we had plenty of other good scores.

33rd Battle – 5th September 2022
We had a great turnout of players, big thanks to all who got involved. With 15 scores counting towards the total it was another excellent team effort and we won comfortably.
Andy and Kit tied for 2nd, Henry was also in the top 10 and then we 4 other heavy scorers between 11th and 22nd – brilliant.
