25th October – The 45th Burgess Hill Academy event was held at a new venue, the King’s Centre, which is the venue for the flourishing Burgess Hill junior club. We had 20 entrants from nine schools and this was the usual season starter called Pawnstormer. The event was won by Dhyanesha Dokula of Southway School in Burgess Hill and there was a surprise in that a new young team from Birchwood Grove won the Top School trophy outright, defeating experienced players from local secondary schools.
