Girls’ Championship

Sussex Girls Congress (20 Jan 01)

Five players took part in the Open “Champions” section, the result being a tie for first place between the rapidly rising local star Eleanor Hayden and the Wey Valley’s own star Hannah Dale. Eleanor therefore became the Sussex under 11 girls champion. The under 18 title went to Deborah Margolis.

The closed challengers section was won by Sarah Linnett with a perfect 6 out of 6. Abi Fryer came second. The best under 9 was Sarah Margolis, and top under 8 Rebecca Grant.
