On Sat 16th March our U11 team travelled to Leatherhead to compete in the EPSCA South Zone tournament. Bucks, Berks, Wey Valley and Oxon were the opponents for the day.
A fourth place finish was required to reach the finals in Northampton in May. There was some excellent chess played on all boards including our reserve boards who dominated the reserve competition. In the main event Sussex scored 45/60 and went home with the gold medals and big smiles!
Thanks again to all the players and their parents for making it such a special day.
