Sussex Junior Chess will be by holding our second Online Chess tournament on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday 25th May after the highly successful inaugural Online Chess tournament to celebrate VE Day
FIDE International chess Arbiter and tournament organiser Adam Raoof will again be running the tournament for Sussex Junior Chess and is providing the same online platform that has extensive anti-cheating measures in place.
The event will be a 5 round online Swiss tournament with a time limit of 20 minutes + 5 seconds/move:
Round 1 9:30
Round 2 10:30
Round 3 11:30
Round 4 13:00 (includes 30 minute lunch break)
Round 5 14:00
All games should be finished by 15:00 Games will not be graded.
Open to all juniors who have previously competed in our Grand Prix series or our first online tournament and are aged under 18 as at 31st August 2019.
The top 3 Sussex players in each section will be awarded a free place in an exclusive online group coaching session with SJC Junior coach Callum Brewer.
Like our popular Grand Prix we will have 4 sections : U11 Minor, U11 Major, U18 Minor & U18 Major – Please enter the correct event according to your chess experience – stronger players in their age group should enter the Major sections.
For this tournament we will be holding an additional section for parents and SJC supporters who may wish to play.
