The Under 9 County Championship season reached its finale yesterday with 14 teams from 11 counties playing a 5-round swiss tournament over 12 boards, with a separate tournament for the ‘rising stars’.
Team Manager Mike Forster was very pleased with the results, commenting
Over the top 12 boards two thirds of the team attained rating performances above their rating, everyone scored at least one win, and we scored above 50% on average. Sussex scored 31 out of 60, and there were 4 teams between 31.5 and 30.5!
In the rising stars there was also much hope for the future from our very young team, with most of our players scoring 50% or more.
Many thanks to Barnet for organising a very enjoyable season of online events.
