Congratulations to our Sussex prizewinners at the South of England Championships – Samuel Merchant, Seha Konara, Austin Mitchell, Risha Jithendra, Abhi Jadav, Arjun Kolani and Oliver Manchester.
Samuel won the U7 section on tie-break with 5½/6.
Aditya Gupta scored 4/6 in the U8s, just outside the prizes.
Seha was top girl in the U9 section with 4/6. Also scoring a very good 4 in the same section was George Tagg.
Austin won the U10 section on tie-break with 5/6; Risha Jithendra was top girl with 3½.
Kit Blades and Thomas Irani both scored 4/5 in the U11 earning a half norm towards invitation to the NCJS trial in April, although both have collected the required number of half norms already.
Abi Jadav came 2nd in the U12 section, winning £70.
Jacob Wynn finished 4th= in the U13 section with 3½ /5.
In the U14 Closed section Arjun Kolani came equal 3rd with 3½ /5. Also, congratulations to Theo lawson whose 2½ points earned him his second half norm, and thus qualification to the NCJS.
Oliver Manchester came 3rd= in the U15 section with 3/5.
