London Junior Championships (Part 2) 28/30th Dec 99

Sussex players performed well at the under 12 sections of the London Junior Championships. In the Major event, Nick Campion and David Barraclough scored 4½/9, closely followed by James Asquith with 4. Best placed in the Under 12 minor was Stephanie Barraclough with 6½/9 taking both third place overall and the prize for best girl. In his first individual performance outside the county, James May performed exceptionally well in scoring 5 out of 9, as did Andrew Tucker (an under 9) in scoring 4½.

 

London Junior Championships (Part 1) 11/12th Dec 99

Record breaking Sussex Junior David Howell gained another title today as winner of the London Junior Under 14 (major) championships. Probably the most ever Sussex Juniors attended the under 10 and under 14 events this year, and kept the Sussex standard flying high with some excellent results. Congratulations to them all. (The under 12 and 18 events take place from 28th – 30th Dec)
