Sussex Martlets entered 2 teams into the annual 4NCL Team Rapidplay in Reading on 7th October.
Sussex Martlets 1 were seeded 9th but produced some impressive results to finish in 3rd place. Regular SJC coach IM Tom Rendle’s team – ‘Sons of Anarchy’ – won the event. Sussex Martlets 2 picked up the junior team prize…although in the interests of fair reporting we should note they were the only junior team in the event!
Several of the players stayed on to compete in the individual rapidplay on the 8th, but despite some promising starts there were no prizewinners.
